My Teddy Bear
If you trust me, I promise I’ll make you happy.
When I was five, I thought the shape of a teddy bear was big.
It is also hugable, friendly, easy-going, and handsome.
Its favorite food is honey!
It makes many friends with other animals in the woods.
You can name them: tiger, butterfly, pig, deer, and even rabbit!
Now, you might be wondering; where did I get those specific ideas from?
Well, I got them from cartoons I watched on TV.

As I got older, I think when I turned ten,
some bears’ picturesque have changed.
At some points, the bear in my 10-year-old brain was still brown and big.
Now, its favorite food is added;
Turned out that it also likes to eat fish!
There’s one thing that made me shock;
Bear isn’t that friendly creature,
On the other hand, it’s wild and might kill people.

I suppose all this time, the adults were lying to me?
Why did they create cartoons and give kids the idea that a bear is a cute, friendly, and hugable animal?
It just feels wrong.
Why would they bother to lie?
What if a little kid got lost in the woods and met a bear?
The kid might be endangered, going towards the bear, hoping for protection;
But.. it might bring the baby into another world instantly.

I just wanna remind you that someone’s perspective towards something can change over time.
Ideas and thoughts never stay the same as people grow.
Their perspective is changing all the time.
And that’s what happened to me.
The 10-year-old me saw the bear as a cruel creature.
However, the 25-year-old me says otherwise.
I see “bear” as my favorite person!
Yes, a person in a human being!
He appears with his tan skin and sweet smile.
Many would probably don’t like his tan skin, but that’s what makes him more attractive.
He also has a broad shoulder, ideal height, and a sweet smile.
And those qualities can make him look like a cute bear.
This bear’s most favorite food is “kimchi jiggae”!
Unique, right?

This bear is the bearest bear of a human being.
When I see his smile, the flowers are blooming in my heart.
I want to protect his precious smile at all costs.
None should hurt him!
His voice is so addictive; It’s as if there’s magic that allures me and makes me forget about others except focusing and being lost in it.
I can fall and lost in his world gladly.

Being in his world would be an honor that I’d brag to the sunflowers!
I can see that in his nation, there would only be sunshine that gives me warmth.
His heavenly tunes will always accompany my whole day in doing daunting tasks.
When the day ended, he would ask how my day was and would excitedly listen to the things that happened in my life.
He would probably hate people that hurt me and is trying to validate my feelings;
As he knows what the girl needs when she tells a story.
Yes, the girl doesn’t need a solution, but she needs to be validated.

Well yeah, this bear must have its own State.
We call his State a “Full-sun” nation.
There, he’s telling every sunflower that everything will be okay as long as they trust him;
Why? Because he would spread happiness in every mean.
As a sunflower myself for the past 3 years now, I can prove his words are indeed true.
He can hug every sunflower with his warm smile, words, and voice.
He gives us the sincere happiness that the world can offer.
His shine is contagious so that every sunflower that he touches can bloom beautifully in its own way.

My teddy bear is also my full sun.
With his continuous support and presence;
I’m sure that I’ll become unstoppable,
The golden field of sunflowers awaited.
