Meet the hottest historical-rommance drama series produced by Shonda Rhimes and Netflix. This series was published in December 25th, 2020. Netflix offered this incredible drama series to its audiences for accompanying them during the Christmas holiday. Have you seen it? If you haven’t you shall read this review first and watch it ASAP! Or even if you have watched it, i’m sure that you’d also love to read it.

My first impression towards Bridgerton series is “Wow this is the best historical rommance series I have ever seen so far!”. Rhimes has successfully bring back the audiences to the Regency Era in England, although there are some things that aren’t same as the real Regency Era. For instance, the character of Queen Charlotte is played by the Guyanese-British actress namely Golda Roshuvel. In the real Regency Era, the wife of King George III was white person. As well as the Duke of Hastings, who played by Rege Jean Page which is in the real Regency Era the Duke was white person.

I think Netflix wanted to bring diversity in this series by presenting black people to the characters. Netflix production team aims to adjust the story with the condition of society today. It is related to the fact that for the last few decades, it was rare to find the diversity presented in the movies maybe this is the time to change the public view that our world consists of people from different races and cultures.

There are some things that I’d like to highlight from this series. Firstly first, the color palette of this series is very colorful and bright from the building, garden, costume, and the natural view. These are visually pleasant the audiences eyes. Secondly, amazing actors and actress along with their chemistry. Thirdly, beautiful costumes such as dresses and suits worn by the characters. And also scandals spread by mysterious Lady Wishtledown which makes the series become more interesting. The detail explanations will be written in the next few paragraphs!

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m amazed by the actors and actresses chemistry. The chemistry on the screen makes the story line seems real for the audiences. For instance, Simon and Daphne interaction is very cute and natural at the beginning of episode. It is when they both flirting each other. Moreover, the best friend relationship between Eloise Bridgerton and Penelope Featheringthon is adorable! These two girls are inseparable and every time they meet they always talk about the endless gossip. Last but not least, the family bond between the Bridgertons’ members is unbelievably strong.

Besides the incredible chemistry built by the actors and actresses. I have a favorite character, he is the Duke of Hastings named Simon Basets. This character played by the Zimbabwean British actor, Rege Jean Page. The perfect physical feature, hot voice tone, and the vibes brought by Page on the screen is very well played. In my point of view he is able to bring Simon’s character fully alive; his trauma of childhood, mysterious character traits, and the doubt to bind close relationship with other people is clearly reflected. Good job Page!

Furthermore, I would like to give a big applause for the production team. They has done breathtaking job in collaborating the ancient and modern atmosphere, specifically in the custome and music in the balls. Thus, the mixture of Regency Era and modern era’s culture will be easily enjoyed and understood by the audiences today.

One of the things that make the audiences curious is who the hell Lady Wisthedown is. As a matter of fact, Lady Wishtledown is an anonymous writer (within the story) who likes to spread gossips, which is oddly most of the time the gossips were true. She knows all the things happened in London marriage market. Interesting right? And I assure you guys will find some shocking news in the end of the series.

Overall, this series is a huge success. All of the elements within the series such as costume, chemistry between the actors, music, color palette, and the places are well presented. In addition, even though the setting of time took place at Regency Era the audiences can easily understood the culture (because it has been adjusted to modern era). The most interesting thing to watch this series is there are some plot twists that you’ll find along way the series!
