A Memory of December
Time flies, everything has changed, but a memory of December will remain the same.
Some people said that December is the best month of the year.
Many people go back to their hometown.
Meeting their loved ones in special occasions.
It happens only once a year. It’s short but beautiful.
You know, right? Something beautiful doesn’t last forever. So is December and holiday..
Kids have the days off from their school and the working parents take some days off from the busy working environment.
Everyone must be excited!
December is the time of a year where many families who live far away the whole time can meet.
The longing feeling of closeness taking them closer to their loved ones.
Just like the beads on the dandelion that are taken away from its head,
Carried away by the wind to the unknown;
But the unknown here is a familiar unknown.
Since they live longer in their second homes than their first homes, somehow their homes seem familiar yet peculiar.
As I’ve mentioned before, the hometown seem familiar, but to some extents they’re foreign, strange, and unknown.
It’s strange, isn’t it?
However, they cant help but just go back to their first homes -
A place where they were born and raised.
Just like a proverb which says that:
“Although you live far away from home and you like that place, there’s always a sense of belonging that you cant explain that make a home you were raised irreplaceable”.
There are homes where they were raised by their lovely mommies and daddies.
The elders’ homes are holding their childhood memories.
It happened years ago. It’s so sad, right? Time flies.
But still, whenever coming to their childhood homes, it seems that the time is ticking back to the good old times.
Reminiscing their younger self as kids who like to play around and fool around with their mates after school.
Going out with the neighbors’ kids who are in the same age.
Catching fish in the nearest river is one of their most favorite activities;
Although mommies will always scold them after seeing their wet clothes and messy-fishy hair, they still do it and repeat it anyway.
Such a fool, right? But that’s how kids are! They are hard to be understood, indeed.
Let me mention some other fun activities they like to do as well:
The boys are running around in the field amid the scorching sun while playing footballs,
The girls are pretending to cook something with grass and light a fire,
In the aftermath, they are coming home with hungry stomach.
However, they shouldn’t be worried! Why? Although mommies scolded them for taking so long for playing outside all day,
They still provide warm rice along with umami fried chicken anyway.
That is one of mommies way of saying “I love you” to their kids.
All in all, those feelings are irreplaceable.
The hometown, mommies-daddies, and childhood friends -
will always be remembered inside their heads.
It’s automatically saved in the favorite memory part inside the tiny brain.
Whenever they miss those memories, they only need to reply it with their hearts or probably going back to the hometown?
Although it has changed, the feeling and memory remain on their memories well, forever.
What a special month of you, December.
